As we walked down the bank of the Thames in London one late summer afternoon, Nasrin explained why her Orleans House Gallery wedding was so important to her. The rustling trees gave a feeling that her powerful story was finally moving through her, and the whole experience of getting married again was cathartic. This is a story of second chances.

Understanding my couples on a personal level is a fundamental part of my process. This helps me create meaningful images on the wedding day and ensures the couple feels understood. For example, I might capture a seemingly simple image that holds a profound meaning, a depth that can only be achieved through spending time with people. As the warm, dappled light bathed Nasrin's story, there was an immediate sense of trust. She trusted me to hold space for her, allowing her story to unfold naturally.

I can't disclose all the details of her story as it's complex, and she went through some very challenging times. In a nutshell, Nasrin was forced into an arranged marriage for her first wedding. So, she never had any choice in how her initial wedding was. Thankfully, due to her bravery, Nasrin escaped that marriage and found a new, true love in Michael. Someone who loved her deeply and treated her as she always should have been in the first place. It was a pleasure and honour to get to know and spend the day with them and their extended family and friends. Nasrin, being Iranian, and Michael from the States, it would always be a beautiful mix of cultures.

The day started with Nasrin getting ready at Harbour Hotel, Richmond, on a lovely autumn day with the leaves just turning. We then moved on to the Orleans House Gallery wedding ceremony in Twickenham, which, with its elegance and splendour, was fitting for the wedding Nasrin had always deserved. The wedding ceremony had many touching moments. The Octagon room allows light to flood in from all angles and envelope everyone. A lovely metaphor for love and light of the occasion. I also love how Nasrin and Michael came back in after the ceremony for a dance as their string quartet still played.

Her elegant dress was from BOA Boutique, and the flowers from Bramble and Moss fit the occasion. I hope you enjoy this very powerful Orleans House Gallery wedding.
