Best Wedding Venues UK
Wedding & Couples Photographer
As a London wedding photographer who has travelled all over the UK and the rest of the world, photographing weddings at some of the very best wedding venues UK, I thought it would be nice to share some of these venues and how I view them from my experience and link them to weddings I have photographed there.
I have divided them into different areas, including “England wedding venues", “Scotland wedding venues", and “Wales wedding venues". Finally, I have grouped all "London wedding venues" into one group.

London Wedding Venues
Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens doesn't need any introduction as a venue. The botanical venue is impressive, just as a place to go and visit, but it becomes extra special as a venue for a wedding. Granting you private access after the gates close is pretty cool. I have photographed a few weddings at Kew, including Ben and Sarah's beautiful Orangery wedding and Tinuke and Abel's Cambridge Cottage wedding. Kew Gardens also makes a great place to have a couples portrait session.
Hackney Town Hall
Wow, what a beautiful and elegant building Hackney Town Hall has become. The restoration work has been done tastefully. It also has a large area outside the front that other Town Halls don't have. I have photographed many weddings there, but you can see Stuart and Trish's wedding on the blog.
Queen’s House
Adam and Louise's wedding was epic, from the moving church service to the massive evening party at the Gherkin. In between, the reception was held at the Beautiful Queen's House in Greenwich. It was recently renovated, so its elegance is really highlighted. It is definitely one to consider if you are looking for something unique in London.
Orleans House Gallery
A slightly unusual wedding venue just tucked away on the banks of the River Thames in Twickenham. Attached to an actual art gallery, the Grade I Listed Octagon Room is elegant and opulent at the same time. I was lucky to photograph Nasrin and Michael's intimate autumnal wedding there.
Syon Park
Syon Park is Kew Gardens' little sister, but definitely not the ugly sister. A botanical garden in its own right, it has a beautiful glasshouse that has hosted many fine weddings. One of my early weddings, which I photographed, was at Syon Park. It was a very memorable and elegant one. It is definitely a venue you should consider if you are also looking at Kew Gardens.
When I saw the location and a few photos online, I wasn't sure why someone would have a wedding at Brunswick House, but it's one of those venues that must be seen in person to understand the fuss. It has a very unique feel that is hard to describe. Attached to a very good restaurant, the main Georgian house is also an antiques gallery, where the items serve as an ever-changing backdrop to couples' weddings. Bang straight in the middle of Vauxhall, the last surviving Georgian Mansion in the area stands out against all the towering skyscrapers. It provided a very incredible backdrop for Rachael and Matt's wedding.
Town Hall Hotel
This is one of the most beautiful wedding venues and hotels in London. Set in the vibrant East End, its location is unique compared to many Hotels of this standard. All the work they did when restoring it makes the architecture shine. Here are examples of how you can have two very different weddings at the Town Hall Hotel. James and Jinny's Chinese-Anglo tea ceremony and party, and Logan and Dan's warm autumn day.
Islington Town Hall
One of my favourite weddings I have ever photographed was at Islington Town Hall, and I also got married there, so it holds a lot of lovely memories. The Council Chamber, the biggest in Islington Town Hall, is elegant but has the intimacy of all your guests wrapped around you as you get married. As I said, Leon and Louise's wedding was one of my favourites, and though it was one of the earliest weddings I photographed, I love it as a beautiful example of how to celebrate the day in such a pure way.
Landmark Arts Centre
The Landmark Arts Centre is a deconsecrated church, so it was appropriate to photograph a gay wedding there. All joking aside, it's a beautiful and unique venue with elegant ecclesiastical energy. What's cool is if you are into your music, like Chris and Nathan's Landmark Arts Centre Wedding, you have excellent acoustics to play with.
England Wedding Venues
Ash Barton Estate - Devon
Ash Barton Estate is a beautiful yet intimate wedding venue in Devon's rolling countryside. The whole house can be hired, and even though it's big, it feels very private and intimate. I photographed Tom and Roxy's outdoor Ash Barton wedding, and even though there was some rain at David and Erin's wedding, there are various spaces that make it a flexible venue.
Ardington House - Oxfordshire
Ardington House is a breathtaking wedding venue set alongside a picturesque lake, creating an ideal backdrop for outdoor ceremonies. The tranquil grounds provide a romantic atmosphere that enhances any celebration. Ellen and Jeremy’s wedding, which I had the pleasure of photographing there, truly captures the enchanting spirit of this lovely location, showcasing its stunning beauty and welcoming ambience.
Whatley Manor - Cotswolds
Whatley Manor is a converted 17th-century manor that is now a hotel, spa, and beautiful wedding venue. What I loved about Whatley Manor is that it feels secluded and private. Many different spaces and environments give their own unique feel, but they still feel part of a bigger place. Also, the gardens and planting are really lovely, and they were perfect for Amy and George's outdoor wedding ceremony.
North Cadbury Court - Somerset
I have photographed four weddings at North Cadbury Court, so I know the venue well. All the weddings I have photographed there have been quite varied and at different times of year. They all felt unique, and the venue accommodated their different feelings well. There have been some lovely memories, but Josh and Milena's wedding is one that I have posted.
Knepp Castle Estate - West Sussex
Knepp Castle Estate is a beautiful, secluded, and unusual wedding venue. It is set next to a lake and a rewilding project, and it is very cool. Check out Sophie and Lynda's Knepp Castle Wedding.
Down Hall House - Essex
An opulent venue in Essex with a big garden where you can have an outdoor wedding. Sophie and James had the most amazing and truly memorable day.
Wales Wedding Venues
Tros Yr Afon - Anglesey
Originally a manor house and farm, Tros Yr Afon, built in 1834, is now a beautiful wedding venue and getaway retreat. It is a gorgeous setting for a wedding, and the light, like that of other areas of the UK on that longitude, is just beautiful. Hannah and James's wedding was truly memorable in the unforgettable Welsh landscape!
Scotland Wedding Venues
Kinross House - Kirkgate
Kinross House Estate in Scotland is a truly enchanting wedding venue. It offers a picturesque setting by Loch Leven. The estate is vast, and you can hire the whole space. I photographed Joshua and Isabel's beautiful and epic wedding there.
