It was that time of year again when the leaves started turning brown and crunching underfoot. Autumn in London can be a beautiful time—the colours, smells, and much-needed freshness after the sometimes muggy summer months. A beautiful time of year for this Brunswick House wedding. My favourite thing during these months is not chestnuts (though they are high on the list) but the light, especially on Rachael and Matt's sunny October day. The ethereal quality of it is one of the reasons we even chose to get married this time of year ourselves.

This unique Brunswick House wedding was truly special to be part of, not only on the day itself but also during its build-up to it. Getting to know Rachael and Matt the few times we met up before the wedding day was lovely. They are two of the kindest and most discerning people I have met. They put a lot of thought into what matters to them when planning their wedding. I remember them saying to me when we first met that they wanted to hire people they "could put their trust in", which is always lovely to hear.

I started the day by taking photos of Rachael getting ready at the elegant Egerton House Hotel, just off Brompton Road, London. We then moved on to the Chelsea Town Hall for the wedding ceremony. It was a very intimate occasion with only 40 guests during the day. The joy in Matt's face when he saw Rachael for the first time was very moving!

Afterwards, we had some high-energy confetti shots outside before they sent their guests on their way briefly to Brunswick House as we made our way across from Chelsea Town Hall to a portrait session in St. Luke's Gardens. It was nice to take a moment and pause with Rachael and Matt and capture some lovely wedding portraits.

We didn't have very long, but the light was warm and perfect. I was so happy with how they turned out. Rachael looked amazing in her vintage wedding dress purchased from Oxfam. Her outfit was finished off perfectly with a pair of Proenza Schouler shoes. Oxfam loved the portraits so much that they contacted me to ask if they could feature this image on the main Oxfam social media pages.

Afterwards, we made the final leg of the journey, grabbing a black cab and going south of the river to Vauxhall to have the Brunswick House wedding reception. It's a very elegant Georgian House set off against the tall skyscrapers that loom over it. It is also quirky in that it is an antique showroom, and all the decorations you see are for sale. Their friends made a "slightly" drunken purchase for Rachael and Matt. It will be interesting to see where it ends up in their house, lol.

After a beautiful meal and touching speeches, we headed to the basement, where the evening guests joined for a massive party. I hope you enjoy the photos from a day I will remember for a long time.
