I have another epic couple and more Cornwall wedding photography to share with you today! I first spoke to Sam and Izzy on a phone call last year when they were living in Italy. I was lucky that they were kindly recommended to me by a fellow photographer who was already booked on their date in July this year. It’s hard not to feel an immense sense of gratitude when such amazing people reach out and want to book you. Asking you to be part of their wedding when knowing how much it means to them both. All this faith in you... based on the strength of your portfolio and a slightly crackly phone line is very heartening.
I like to make as much time to get to know my couples as possible. So it was so nice to go for lunch with them both in London about a month before the wedding. My approach is not cookie-cutter. So spending time with couples enables me to not only get to know them a bit better but also pick up on all the subtle details of the wedding the day and themselves. These subtle details only sometimes come out over time and are not a list you can hand to someone.
The wedding day itself was based around Sam’s beautiful family home which is close to Falmouth in Cornwall. After the ceremony at St Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Falmouth, we made our way up to Pendennis Point for a few portraits before making our way back to the house. As you can hopefully tell from the images it was a fun-filled day but also a very emotional one. It was great to see everyone expressing themselves and a palpable sense of love.
In the short time spent with Sam and Izzy and learning of their plans for the future of studying in the USA, they are a brave couple who always have time for others. Most of all I learnt how kind they are and I hope this comes across.
