On a beautiful September day, Tom and Roxy held their Devon wedding at the stunning Ash Barton Estate in the heart of the countryside. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and gorgeous details that made it a truly unforgettable occasion.
As friends of my brother, it was an honour to attend and be asked to photograph this special occasion, and I can honestly say that it was one of the most beautiful weddings.
Roxy looked breathtaking in her Catherine Deane wedding dress, which was complemented perfectly by her Sam Edelman shoes. The combination of the intricate lace on her dress with the elegant simplicity of her shoes was truly stunning. Tom, meanwhile, looked dashing in his smart suit and tie, and together they made the perfect couple.
One of the things that made Tom and Roxy's wedding so unique was the fact that they created their own flowers from the Covent Garden flower market. Despite not being a professional florist, Tom's mother managed to create beautiful bouquets that perfectly captured the rustic elegance of their venue. The natural beauty of the flowers was enhanced by the beautiful backdrop of the Ash Barton Estate, which is a breathtakingly beautiful property with rolling Devon hills, and picturesque gardens.
The ceremony itself was held in the walled garden, which provided a stunning natural setting for this Devon wedding. Tom and Roxy opted for a humanist wedding ceremony, which allowed them to personalize their vows and create a ceremony that truly reflected their personalities and values. One of the most memorable parts of the ceremony was the traditional Persian 'Sofreh Aghd' (symbolic wedding table) ceremony, which involved the couple dipping their fingers in honey under a decorative spread representing a symbolic connection between them and their families. This was a beautiful and meaningful moment that added an extra layer of depth and richness to the ceremony.
After the ceremony and drinks reception, Tom and Roxy's portrait session produced some truly stunning images. The weather was lovely, with beautiful light and only a touch of rain. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we were treated to the most amazing rainbow, which appeared right in the middle of the shoot. It was as if the universe was blessing their union, and it was a magical moment that we will never forget.
The reception was held in the estate's beautiful barn, tastefully decorated with string lights and flowers. The food was absolutely delicious, with a sumptuous main course, and a tempting array of desserts. The speeches were heartfelt and touching, with Tom and Roxy thanking everyone who had helped them on their journey to this special day.
As the night wore on, the party really got started, with everyone hitting the dance floor. The DJ (one of Tom's cousins) played a great mix of tunes, and everyone was having an amazing time.
Tom and Roxy's wedding at Ash Barton Estate in September was a truly magical day that will live long in our memories. From the stunning location and beautiful weather to the meaningful ceremony and heartfelt speeches, everything was perfect. And the fact that they created their own flowers and had an amazing rainbow during their portrait session just added to it all. It was a privilege to be a part of such a special occasion, and we wish Tom and Roxy all the happiness in the world as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.
